What Is Media?

In communication, media (singularly medium) are the storage and transmission channels or tools used to store and deliver information or data. It is often referred to as synonymous with mass media or news media, but may refer to a single medium used to communicate any data for any purpose.

There’s lots of factors that influence the type of media to run with before launching an advertising campaign. For many marketing managers this can be make or break for their business sales. There’s so many marketing media or mediums available today, but it’s important that the right media is selected for the job.

Media that not everyone uses:
- Printed DVDs
- Printed Stationary (cups, pens, erasers, holders)
- Printed Promotional Goods (cup mats, toys)
- Tickets (concert tickets, parking tickets, bus tickets)
- Vehicle Livery

Media that everyone uses:
- Business signage
- Outdoor Flags, Indoor Roll Banners, Indoor Pop Up Displays, Outdoor Banners
- Business Cards, Letterheads, Compliment Slips
- Paper Advertisements, Magazine Advertisements
